How would you folks interpret this:
FARM STOCK CLASSES--TIRES--YOU WILL BE ALLOWED TO SHAPED OR SCUFFED THE TIRES ON THE BACKSIDE OF TREAD ONLY!!! FRONT HEIGHT CAN NOT BE ALTERED IN ANYWAY! GRIND MARKS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED, IF ANY MARKS ARE FOUND ON BODY OR TREAD OF TIRE, YOU WILL BE PLACED IN THE MOD. STOCK CLASS. NO EXCEPTIONS ON THIS RULE. I WILL MAKE THE DECISION AND MY DECISION IS FINAL.
Does this mean that I can alter the top of the bar any way as long as I hide the grinding marks? Do marks on the top of the bar mean automatic disqualification no mater how they were created even if the tire was spun or drug down the blacktop or concrete road? How do you shape or scuff the bar with out making incriminating marks on them? Just what the he!! is shaping isn't that the same thing as altering or grinding or cutting? If someone can give me a heads up on how or what is really allowed here I sure would appreciate any additional information Thank You, USAP Puller

I would say that if you have a good setup that works with your tractor whether it has cuts on it or not,, Why change the setup of the tractor if it works on other tracks simular to the one in Princeton.. Don't get all riled up, keep focused on your tractor and watch the others. Tires, may make a difference, but the specific setup on your tractor will be the detrmining factor at a pull. If it hooks now,, pull it, like it is,, don't let cut tires scare you off,, it it aint broke, don't fix it.. Just my opinion. ChadS

Sounds to me like the phrase " front height can't be altered in any way" means that even "road worn" tires would be kicked out of this class and into the next division. Seems to like anything but NEW tires wouldn't qualify??!!!

Have a true farm stock JD B I mean there could not be one anymore farm stock and I really don't get big in pulling ,however I really like adding my opinion to everything, here goes. I think if you are going to have a farm stock class it should be just that NO MODIFICATIONS of any kind,The tractor should be as used in the field after being purchased. You wouldn't buy a tractor to farm with and then go and rebuild the engine from new, and you wouldn't spin the tires backwards to wear them out prematurely.and you wouldn't hang weights all over it to do field work.Just my opinion!!

Not to be a smart ace but you would put weigt on it..our 4500 lb M would barely pull a wagon with 200-300 stalks of tobbacco up a hill...thats y tractors on the farm have wheel weights

I am anxious to read comments to this question as I also do not understand the definition of cut and uncut tires. Does uncut mean anything but machine?(grinding on concrete, asphalt, etc.)
Does cut mean anything that has been machine cut? (any type of grinder, sander, or planer)
Very happy that I do not have to make decisions based on this written exception to the rule of NO CUT TIRES ALLOWED.
I will continue to run my old, rotten a$$, road worn tires and try to have as much fun as before.
Not interested in maintaining 2 sets of tires in order to pull other events that do not allow any shaping of tires whatsoever. Which means I may, to my disappointment, have to give up pulling with USAP.
Hope this does not ruin what in the past has been an extremely large and competitive class. However if the trend goes as it has in the past, it will go from NO CUTS to TIRES CAN BE SHAPED OR SCUFFED to RUN WHATEVER YOU WANT.
As I stated earlier, I am very interested in interpretation by other pullers, opinion of this rule change, and what long term effect it may have on Super Farm Class.
Sorry for the long post and thank you for your comments.

what has been done is guys cutting tires by turning backwards on concrete or metal grating. then running down gravel road to get rid of marks calling them uncut but road wore.(preachers cut). what i think is happening they are trying to even the field by not having profession cut tires being use in farm stock. i have not cut mine and doing real good in the class. i looked at some of my farm tractor tires and would think they were cut if had not owned them myself. call john at 270-233-9341 sure he will talk to you about this!!

funny how some people twist the rules to get an advantage.someone should tell them that you don't need to spent money that no one else is spending to have fun.if one has it soon all will have it.
