Hey Guys:

Where can you get pulling parts at for a Perkins. High Performance cams and other such things? Is the CAV pump stout enough to deliver a bunch of fuel?

Thanks,

John

I am in the middle of building a 354 and have a pretty good handle on all the parts. the CAV pump can be pretty anemic and probably the best route is to change it over to a roosa master.

Can an in-line pump be installed? Is your 354 turboes or naturally aspirated? What about a cam?

Thanks

John

Yes, a inline can be installed, it takes some serious work, but it can be done. this is a 505 CI turbo motor. as far as camshaft, you need to talk to chuck at Vogel manufacturing in Effingham, IL. He has diesel camshafts figured out better than anyone else I've dealt with.

I would stay away from Vogel. He has been know to screw people on camshafts that he knows aren't right. There are alot of garden tractor pullers from the old Riceland,Ohio pulling club that were screwed by Chuck including me. One camshaft for the price of two when he's the one who said they were no good, but tuff luck, he wasn't going to stand behind his work.

Funny, alot of pullers I know have had nothing but good to say about Vogel and his work. Tractors with his cams are always at the top of the class.

All the Vogel equiped V8's I've heard spit half of the intake charge out of the exaust pipe!! Sounds cool, but no power!! Mine doen't seem to have that sound and the power is good? But it is green!!Just an oversight
