More power from styled JD G

I pulled my G for the first time this past Saturday and was happy to get down the track without any problems. However, my friend beat me with his JD 620 and another friend beat me with his JD 530. I bored the G .045 over with aluminum pistons and ported the head some. I was thinking a G would perform a little better than it did. The tractor seemed like it just lost power since it stalled out at the end of the pull. I didn't notice any tires spinning. Is there anything else I could do to get more HP? Thanks for any help.

Any job you can do to work it hard and at least 20 hours will bring the power the quickest. I have a 800 hitch and put a 3pt subsoileer on my G and go out and work the hard spots every fall. I put around 50 hours on it that way pulling it hard and it seems to help a lot. John

cam would help bored to 125 and more compression would also help and a light stroke would make a g shine email if you need more info i build pullers for a living

Set the timing and carburation with a dyno if you can find one.
