Why isn't there talk on this site about V-8's in tractors?,There are a lot of then out there pulling and more being built each year.
Are the number of V-8 tractors large enough to have there own web site??,What do you think?,

Here in the UK I have a 1963 Fordson Super Major into which I have fitted a 510 Perkins V8 diesel. The tractor now has a much better power to weight ratio.HOLD ON TO YOUR HAT !

Hello I am from New Zealand and are a keen Fordson Collector. I am thinking about fitting a 540 V8 into a major. could you plese help me out with info for example do you have a copy of the bellhousing adapter plate and how did you set up the clutch. any info would be very much appreciated. After searching the web for hours I cant actually find anying sites who can tell me about doing the conversions.

Hi I am from New Zealand and collect stationary engines and Fordson tractors. I am very interested in doing a conversion of a 510 erkins into a E1ADKN Can you please help me out with info regarding bellhousing mating, clutchs front wishbone mounts and any other hurdles you may have encontered

What about tractors that came with V8s from the factory(diesels), are they included in this group?
Does the No V8s rule apply to these tractors?
Naturally aspirated V8 diesel tractor.Would a tractor with a factory stock V8 diesel engine have to pull with big block chevy tractors?

I have a M farmall that is pretty rare. I have been told that there was only thirteen of these especially built by IHC. It has a V8 detroit diesel 318. They were built and sold in the southern states. They were used to pull giant manure spreaders to spread all the bull$hit that goes on in the midsouth. My club doesnt like it but they let me pull it. I pull it in the 20,000lb farm stock class. It does pretty good. Usually get a second or third. There is a super A with a 3208 V8 Cat that gives me fits. Hope you find this info interesting. the Lying SOB

Our neighbor has a factory IH with the V/8. Not quite old enough to be a antique. I believe Oliver once had a v/8 in their 1800 series. Central Ohio tractor pullers had a big class of antique v/8's at the Decalb super pull last Mar. The results are still on their web site.

I was just wondering. I know that no american tractors were factory produced prior to 60s.Several brands produced a V8 in 60s /70s, Oliver,Massey,AC,IH and my personal favorite DEUTZ.But one of these may have produced 1 in the mid 50s.??Would the no V8s apply if all other criteria was met?Prior to 57,naturally aspirated,indirect injected,with engine numbers.
I know you boys are sayin"bullshi*" about now so just look in a parts store filter book,and verify my story.Deutz produced the 514 series engine from the early 40s(during the war)to 1967
These engines were installed in tractors from 51 to 1963,they continued to produce and install the 514 until 67 in equiptment and machinery.These engines are 110mm bore ,140mm stroke and were produced in 1,2,3,4,6,8 and 12 cylinder versions.The 1,2,3,4 & 6 are inline(514)the 6, 8 & 12 are V engines(614)A 6 cylinder was produced inline and V.The cyl,piston head from a 15hp 1cylinder(1L514) is exactly the same as a 230hp 12cylinder(12L614)
I am researching this religiously,have several pictures and literature(the whole book)I want to be prepared for NATPA cross examination( Only Bill can have magic tractors?)See ya Tech Man.
