Pullers;

The season is over up here in Wisconsin, this makes us plan for next year already.

I want more power out of my G. The only this is... I dont want to stroke it. I have been told that you can buy a 7 1/2 inch power block... with a matched head. Also, have the cam worked over... and throw in some roller rockers. Do away with the old Mag, and run some hot coils. Also, I want to make a custom exhaust manifold and run dual exhaust...

Is there a good company that I can get my block from.. as well as the roller rockers... and the head? I am willing to pay for quality.

Thank you.

You must not have ever seen what you have to do to install one of these 7.5" blocks. The cam gear has to be cut to about half its thickness and on the pulley side you have to grind through the side of crank case and patch it. In my opinion stay about 6.750 with power block or just contact Schooler motor sports he has stroker kits 6.375 with stock block 9.25 stroke. I think you can stroke to 8-8.5 with out grinding into trans. can also have rods made by Keith Merfield also check with Jerry Alanap

A 7" bore goes in real nice. You still have to grind on the cam gear and some on the sides of the crank case . I tried to use one of the 1st 7.5 blocks from Rick Funderburk it was a piece of trash. The block was cast wrong and I ended up cutting a giant hole in the side of the tractors crankcase. I did get my $3000.00 back.A 7x7 engine should give you close to 80hp with a few other mods. I do recommend a Jerrys head and manifold , use a stock cam and have your rocker arms cut . This should give you a little more than 80hp . Have FUN!

The casted 7.5 in blocks are machined and sold by Jerry's Machine in Wichita, KS...(There are a few others selling this block..) These are the longer blocks (unstyled Blocks, 1in longer than the styled G block.) The pistons they are using are a shorter pistons to be used with stroked crank.. I'm sure a longer piston could be make.. but would be heavy.... It is not just a bolt in block like the old Power Blocks..
For the cost.. stroking is going to be much.. much cheaper... and about the same work... Both are going to require cutting of the crankcase.. and custom (welded) rods... If you are going to spend that kind of money for the block, pistons, rods, and head... the crank won't be that much more... JDGnut

What kind of price are we talking about for one of these 7.5 block assemblies? Also what is the part number of this long block and its length?

What do you mean, not a bolt in type deal...?

The only thing is, I dont want to ruin the tractor. I am assuming maybe like 80 hp... with all the mods that I had planned. Thats with out taking that plasma cutter after the rear end. I really am trying to stay away from the stroker deal.

Not a bolt in deal... next time U have the block out of a G measure the opening where the cylinders stick into the crankcase... there is only a little over 16in between the frame rails.. 7.5 sleeves.. doesn't leave much room... You have to cut out the area where the sleeves stick into the crankcase to get a 7.5 in block to fit.. and grind the inside sides of the case for the sleeves to fit.. and sometimes they go through to the outside.. and a patch has to be added to the right side (where the numbers are casted) to fit the block in...
If you are only looking for 80 HP.. that shouldn't be too hard to get... you can get over 70 HP with mostly stock parts.. High compression pistons and a flathead.. with some other work will get U in that.. or some other things with the stock Styled head.. will get U 70Hp.. For 80 or over..you will have to use a small stroker.. I don't know if a TSC powerblock (6.5in) will get you 80Hp... You can use a small stroker crank and not cut up the crankcase.. about 8.25 is about max with out cutting into the rear wall.. and that will depend on which rods you use... The unstyled G block is about 13.5 in long.. (1 in longer) Can't remember the part number off the top of my head.. Prices... last time I checked.. Jerry's 7.5 block runs about $3850-4000 for block, pistons, pins and rings.. Head about $1500 for the head, valves.. and maybe the manifold.. The TSC power blocks have been running 1200-1500 for sale most of the places I have seen... Only down fall of having a small stroker crank made.. they usually charge about the same as a big crank... Need to find someone going to a bigger crank.. Good Luck...

If you were in my situation what would do? To get the most power out of your tractor... with the least damage. I am will to put about 5 grand into it... and I numerous connections.
