Here is a picture taken last Fri eve at Macon,MO of Brent Longs 6000 lb SS and 8000 lb UL/SS MX puller.Got 4th place in 6000 SS class and didnt get to pull 8000 UL/SS as the pull got rained out.

I was told that its 504 cubes on alky,3 turbos,DOHC,and 7000 rpms.Should make well over 3000 horses.

504... Must be the 8.3 Cummins engine.. I would figure it is bigger than that... Usually the smaller engines are bigger when bored... (and stroked..) Nice looking tractor.... We had a blast at BG watching these classes pull...

I'm sure its built off a DT 466 IH block.Has to be under 505 cubes to pull 6000 SS class. This tractor also pulls the 8000 UL/SS class.

For those that dont know Brent he owns Long Machine at Aldrich,MO about 60 miles from me.He is an alky pulling motor genius and builds alky pulling engines for pullers all over the world. His motors stay together, turn unreal rpms, and make the horses. He builds his own OHC heads out of aluminum with either 4 valves or 2 valves. He will build you a push rod motor too.

He has built several tractors for the Kwaitkowskis (Arnie and Joe)out of Michigan that have won national titles in the UL/SS class.

For years Brent pulled a 686 IH on alky,407 cubes,DOHC,with one huge turbo, and 7000 rpms.He used to pull the 7500 SS class and have watched this little tractor beat the 3 turbo diesel tractors. He was really tough in the 6000 SS class.

I don't know how big it is inside, but it looks like a 400 series IH block with his own 4 valve all aluminum head. The rear was more interresting. It looked like a 666 casting with much shorter axle housings and outboard planetaries. The whole tractor from front to back is unbelievable.

I saw Brent @ MO. State Fair on what was this machines 2nd pass. He was a little out of control to say the least. Anyhow it sure is an unbelievable piece. I talked to him a little bit there too. He is a great guy and is very willing to help anybody who asks. This whole tractor, with the execption of roll cage, engine block, and rear end, is completely made of aluminum. EVERYTHING!; frame, front axle, motormounts, Everything. How else do you think you get an MX into the 6000# class with weight to spare? The man is a true genius when it comes to these things.

I'd say there are 100 times as many cubic dollars in that tractor as there are cubic inches.
