Rich,

The guys that posted before me gave good information and here's some more. The Deere 7700 gas combine used the 404 block I believe so the 1 7/8 or 2 1/8 carb will be too much if you're not spinning it. Plus unless you have a custom intake manifold built, it is pointless to hook one of these up to a garden-hose size stock S88 manifold. The GK195U carb, on the other hand, is a 1 5/8 throttle plate built for a 320 cube motor at 2200 RPM. I have one of these if you are interested. Again, manifold work will be required to get this to run right.

Also---you say you are using stock 88 rods and am assuming M&W 3 7/8 Turbo Domes, how are you making up for adding 7/16 of stroke? The M&W pistons are designed with a pin height for 4 inch stroke and 6 3/4 inch rod.

Are you planning on running a lot of rpm? If not then a carb off of a Waukesha 195, Massey 1100 or 1850 Oliver will probably work pretty good. Beyond that I would see one of the better carb people (Motec or ?). With carbs bigger isn't always better.

Good luck,
A.P.

I have a NOS Zenith carb for a JD7700 that I would be willing to sell. Let me know and I will email you with details.

The carb off of a 105 combine will be plenty. That is also the same carb used on 3o20-4020 Jd's.
The 7700 carb is an overkill for that motor.
