JD A Power Block

How far can you bore out a 6 inch power block for an A JD. I was hoping I could put in G JD pistions that are .125 over. Will the sleeves take it or do you have to resleeve it? Any help would be great. thanks

0.125 over works just fine. Hinrich Repair sells 0.125 over pistons or you can cut down standard bore G pistons. Search this whole site for a guy named Dave Wickman or WTW. This guy knows his stuff when it comes to power blocks. Here is tip I got from him, do not have the shop boil the block when you have it bored. You risk damaging the sleeve's o-rings and having water leaks.

I am running a Powerblock with 6 1/8" Hinnrich high compression aluminum pistons in a 47 JD-A. It Dyno's 55 hp without the crank being stroked.

ok. I am planing on boring it to 6 1/4". Will that work or not. does it need to be sleeved then or can it just be bored out.

i think just bored...lots of people run that setup with the G piston. It seems to work good.
