my first tractor pull

I am a lover of old tractors. I finally got my first tractor about two years ago and have been working on restoreing it. It is a 1941 Allis Chalmers model B. I love it. This weekend I am entering it into a antique tractor club pull at our local fair here in Maine. This will be my first pull. I was wondering if anyone out there could give me any advise. Especially the air preasure in the tires. I have no idea what it should be. Also what gear to you pull in. I have been told either 1 or 2. What do any of you suggest that have the experience? I am doing this for the fun of it and because I love all tractors so I am not only out for a win, but I don't want to look foolish either. Thanks in advance and hope to hear some suggestions soon.

I have two B's and a C allis that I pull. Some pictures in my tractor pulling album.
I pulled the B in the picture that will come up in the link in the 2000# and 2500# classes. I took first in both that day. I had 5 lbs air pressure in the tires and the hitch was set at 13 inches. No weights on the front. Several of our pulls we can not use front weights. I have twenty or more trophys with my Allis C and I also pull at 5# of pressure in the rear tires and a 13" hitch. I have just added front weights to the front of the C by swithing to a CA front with the cultivator bosses but have not pulled it yet to know if I can get it to ballance with an eighteen inch hitch. I did build a drawbar that I could get the hook point to 18" back from the center of the rear axle.

Takin a load of tractors south of portland to play with.
Might go to Oakwood Ohio next Sunday for my second time out this year.
Was up to Corks auction today and saw several pullers tryin to buy themselves rich. Have fun and beat Cork.

Safety. watch a few of the other drivers what they do, be observant to the track officials, watch out when hooking, and unhooking from the sled. If you are allowed front end weights, you may want to run enough to keep it on the ground, B allis are light on the front end, run 1st gear, I doubt it has enough power for 2nd. Make your drawbar specs, to the rules. Practice letting out on the clutch at 1/2throttle, remenber safety, I would run 10-12psi. Should make the B talk to ya! Chads

Thank you all for the good advise. This is a antique tractor pull and we can not have any hanging weights. The information you all have given will be a lot of help. I am sure the other club members will help too. I am looking forward to a good time. Thanks again.
