chads I was wondering is there anyway I could build my dt361 in my 1206 to pull against the 466 that put out 650 cubic inch??? I dought I can but thought I would ask. If I build my 1206 do you know alot on the dt361 to atleast make it look good going against them guys??? I want to try to build the dt361 in it. I would buy a dt407 but there hard to come by and they cost alot to get. I also heard you can't do to much with there head but not sure just rumors I heard. Thanks for any info you could give Jeremy

As far as putting the 466 in the 1206, Yes, it can be done. If you use a bell housing from a "Hydro" tractor, or something along that line, It is a 2 piece bell housing on this particular tractor. it has a 806-1456 rear end bolt pattern and has the 466 bell housing bolt pattern. You would have to lengthen the hood, and some other items. It is not easy, but Yes, it can be done. Chads

The dt361 and the dt407 is the same block. I would assume, that whatever can be done to the 407, you could do the 361. I have a 856 with the 407dt that I am going through, I asked alot of questions here at YT, and these guys know what they are talking about. The post was called "856hot farm" Look through there, great info form pullers who know. Sorry I could not help too much, but the fellow pullers here can help. Chads

chads thanks I did read about the 856 hot farm but I'm looking for some more info like what can I do for pistions crank cam and head.I know that the 361 has a smaller bore and stroke than the 407. but what to do to the motor itself I'm not to sure. Any other info you my have would be great... Do you think hypermax or someone would have a performance rebuild kit for the dt361. sorry for all the questions. I just want to know as much as possible before I rebuild this motor so that it is done right. Thanks again Jeremy

Head and injector pump work, along with a bigger turbo, From what i understand, The 407 can make 350hp pretty easily. REDMAN is a good puller to ask if he would be so kind to share a little knowledge. Chads

I dont know the rules of the class you are going to pull your 1206 in but whatever you do implement some safety features such as a steel flywheel and even a scatter blanket. It is possible to turn a 361 4 to 5 grand and a cast flywheel coming apart isnt pretty. I am involved with a superfarm tractor and at some of the brush pulls we go to there have been some flywheel issues. To risk yours or someone else's life is foolish, there's my $.02 on that. Go with a 466 if allowed. there are so many parts available from old pro and superstocks that you can use, also i am almost sure it would be easier to build a performance 466 cheaper because of parts availablity. good luck.
