I would really like some help on locating some 450 and 501 IH truck engines. Yes, I know everyone thinks they know what I am doing with them. I bet not! Anyway I thank anyone who could help.

Check with Aldelman's in Akron Ohio. They have some from time to time.

Start with heavy equipment salvage yards. The

Red Power R/U usually has some neat "prototype"

antique equipment,is that what you have in mind?

BTW,if you need an updraft manifold/carb setup

search for RD powered packers and rollers.

Good Luck!!

Why don't you just get a DT-466 Engine / Block if the tractor is big enough.

RedOnes -

Now, I am not saying that I know what you are going to do (with these engines). What I am saying is that you are on an Antique Tractor Pulling Board asking for engines that readily drop into a W-40 (WK-40) McCormick Deering chassis. This sounds suspicious to quite a few individuals. It would seem, to what I believe would be MOST people, that if you were looking for a truck engine(s) to put in said truck(s), that you would be on the Classic Trucks forum, or other truck related site asking for these engine(s). Any pullers that would be on here would either be wanting to buy these engines themselves or at least NOT tell you where one that they want to buy is!!!!

Highest (non assumptionary) Regards,

Goldsburg

I understand what you are saying, but I would not even consider building a W-40. I simply would like to have the engine because I have had some in the past and I like them. The reason for posting on a tractor pulling forum is simply because I pull tractors and I enjoy reading all of the know-it-all responses. I like reading about antique tractors, but I am not interested in pulling tractors that cost way to much for the ride you get. Once again any help would be great.

Would you be interested in the IHC 549 V-8? Have a decent one for $150.00 if you are.
