need some advice on the gov on my engine> I cannot get the "snap" or quick response from my engine. I am running the 17 spring and gov assembly, but just doesn't seem to work all that good. Am I missing something or what? watching other tractors run, they have plenty of throttle where I don't have any more. Could this be a timing or cam problem? cam is ground for pulling, and I have set it 1 tooth advanced and am running 15 deg. advance on my timing. have tried it straight up and have the same results. Any info is appreciated. Thanks

larry, i'm sure you checked this but make sure the carb linkage and shaft in the carb is not binding, and the valve adjustments are right. if you advanced the cam timing make sure the lifter was clear down when you set the lash. another thing did you make the link from the gov. arm to the carb the length will affect this also. just my 2 cents worth, JOE
