WC puller

I understand that there is a AC WC pulling tractor in the YT classified ads that the seller claims to have a 7 1/4 inch stroke with no deck plate between the block and the head. I know what I think, but what do you think?

If this is true i would not like to be near the thing when it pulls. To my knowledge there is no way that the crank will fit inside a standred WC block. I have one that is 6 5/16 and the sides are thin. And that is with 1 3/4 journals.

"Stroke" has nothing to do with deck plates! The sides of the block and camshaft do! It's how small do you want to make the rod journal diameter, grind into the camshaft/block, and grind on sides of the rods!

You have to have enough deck hgt and rod - stroke ratio to make it work.

It has to have windows in the block. If the compression height is short then it might work. It just wouldn't be as effecient.

I'm the one who posted the ad. I posted the tractor for a friend of mine and I got my information crossed up along the path. The WC has a 4.125 bore x 6.25 stroke, it is 355cid. Sorry about that, I apologize for any brain cells that ya'll might have waisted on that 7.5 mystery!
