We have two Farmall M gas heads, but they look totally different in the combustion chamber one is quite smaller than the other one. but in the less compressed head we have as big of vales as we could fit,ported and polished,"bored" exhaust tunnels, and shaved it a little. which would you put on a 39 M with a super M kit runnin 10% over rpm's in 4500 vs. tractors only '39 and back i.e. JD A's and one Harr Parr?????

THE one with more compression,I would not have Ported or bored anything on the head if it were me and I would have left the stock valves in also,the set up that you are telling here sounds like a stock motor,I think you will find that ALL that head work will be for nothing on a stock motor,This is the BIGGEST mistake people make when they have a motor that has a stock bore and stroke,and the more I think about it,I think you just trashed a L.P. head that is WAS worth about $1500,,,Unless someone else did it and YOU bought it!

NOOOOO OOOOO we did all the head work to the other(gas) one..... the one with compreesion has just been redone to stock specs

Use the LP head, cut it down as far as you can without weakening the head.Don't port or polish anything, use the stock valves, increase the spring preasure, open the rocker arm clerances alittle.
I pull a DC Case with a LP head, made all the difference in the world.
