Whats a good method for naming a tractor?I have thought and thought and I can't come up with anything that has not been used or isn't corny sounding.I was wishing for something catchy but it has not come to me yet. Thanks ahead for any ideas.Jack(TN).

I call mine "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights".. Had a string of bad luck with it when got it. got p.o'd at it, made the decal with that on it and got everything straightened out.. not only is it named after a song, personal sentiment too.

Jack, my wife is very sensitive about such matters. She suggests you sit quietly with your tractor and it will tell you it's name. It may not be catchy or glamorous, but it will be accurate. My 2 are Henry-just a nice old country gentleman who likes attention and work, and Butch, who just has a bad bad attitude about everything.

When I was building my John Deere A in 1996, my son Daniel was born... the "A" is called "Danny Boy". The Oliver 88 I am finishing up has been dubbed " The Off Green Machine" due to being painted John Deere Green :).

Hummm how to go about naming a tractor.... What do you normally call it when your pulling or can you put that in public? Brandon has named my 88 Godzilla just based on looks alone..LOL!!!! I would say walk out in the shed and look at it and name it for the first thing that comes in your mind. Of course I am not sure if all tractors can be named as I have no clue what some of the ones out here would be called.

On another note, I saw Randy out on his A today, he's got it sounding and running good. One question though, I noticed his intake isn't built like anthing we have. It's kinda flatter or something. Something they made for A's in the later years? Looked good though.

Yeah Jeff,I couldn't call my tractor what I have called it in the past for respect of ladies and children, hahaha. We got the manifold off an A that K.C.had and indeed it is unlike any I have seen too.I feel like this was a propane manifold.Hey,what about "SPANKY" cause I have taken proper spankings and have given some?Later Jeff and fellas,Jack(TN).P.S.come on pullin season!

"Spanky" sounds good to me! I drove yours and I think your gonna spank some red butt this year so go for it! Of course now if I can find the weight I might have to bring the "deere-slayer" up there ..LOL!!! I'll have to go up here and check our 720 and see if that is an LP head. I like the looks of it!

Our case dc is named "daisy", dads cc is "Rusty", due to surface rust and his cc that is dad bought new is named "Casey" and it was called that since new. Our allis chalmers ca is "alice", not original but it fits.

Well, it all depends. Does your tractor have a "personality" or a unique history? "Ol' Hunnert Horse" and "Chain(start) Lightning are out in the barn here.

I call my cub "Charlie" because it replaced my great grandfather's mule named Charlie.

After I had painted my A Farmall flat black I got to looking at it and decided that with a white stripe around it, it would look like a "hamp." So I just starting calling her pig. It seems to be catching on, no decals yet though.
