Those Case's are the product of Ron Shipman from Marble Hill Mo. He makes them BIG and BAD. They are not cheap, but look at the performance.

not only are they bad, but do have some longevity to them. i bought a tractor with one of his engines a coulpe years ago, broke a crank the end of last season. nothing to sneeze at. that welded crank ran for almost 14 years. call it luck if you want to, but i'll keep going back to him.

next time you're at a pull, look to see how many tractors there have his "yellow sticker" on them, see how they run, then decide. the guy from PA just drives....what a nice pull, 20% over on rpms???

I think not. From what I have heard, Shipman knows his stuff. He has been doing this for 20 pluse years. Besides look at all the machines he has built.

Tilley, what have you done? Look at the different models the guy has built. No one is saying for you to like him, but you can at least respect his skills. Just a few "yellow stickered" tractors out there compared to the other guys who "job out" all there stuff, BUT if you look, the yellow stickers usually run hard!! Enough said. No arguments, no denials. One of his poor little W-9's one 2 national championships about 5 years ago in Hartford, KY if I remember right?! About the same time you were just starting to copy your idol Bill Bear and the Ohio 88's with your "scrap iron"...soon to be ....."under pressure". Womder if anyone made any TV hooks in Texas last weekend like that awesome 88 did a couple years ago AND BREAK THE CRANK?!?

How can you sit there and type that? No engine builder is perfect, bottom line. But, in sheer variety of colors and designs there is no one out there that can do what Shipman does, bottom line. Look at Gingerich, all Olivers; look at Lemmons, all Farmalls (starting to branch out); look at Duke, all Olivers. Shipman in no particular order has built Case's, Farmall's, Oliver's, Molines, and about any other brand you can think of. Try and become educated before you type.

All I heard was that original ideas came from some guy in northern PA. He needed someone that was the best to do his machine work and sent his stuff to Shipman. There were two brothers and a brother in law that came down here to the Interstate pulls with an Oliver 88 a Moline GVI and a few years ago Case 600 started to come with them. When those three tractors came everyone else was pulling for 4th place. They still come but only with the 600 and the brothers now have a 970 diesel that pulls in the open with the blown v-8's and kicks there butts. I can't think of there names though. Casepuller

Its not being educated its the cost of his tractors. $30,000 for a $3.00 trophy is not for the poor,so only the rich or a fool would buy a tractor from Boatman that goes down the track a few times then goes to $hit and then he gets another $20,000 to fix it.Sounds like job secularity to me,not a bad way to make a good life.

I wouldn't bet the farm on it. Duke has been known to do some very nice work on brands other than Oliver. Probably the others have as well. If you want to speak in genrealities, Shipman's reputation is built mainly on Case engines.

He may have started with the Cases but you would be suprise to see all the motors he has build. There are alot more people out there with Shipman motors then you think. Just because a few have the yellow stickers does not mean those are the only ones. Besides what other engine builders give a warrenty on their product??

I probably wouldn't be suprised. My point is that he is known (right or wrong) as primarily a Case expert. The same as the other builders who are doing a lot more these days too. Does he do good work? Yes, but then so do a number of other builders. As far as his "warranty" I don't know anything about it.

A.P.
