What is the regulation on tire size in your area?

My club is trying to even up the classes and make the rules more uniform to the "rest of the world" and still be fair. We have a few problems with tire size in the classes. We think that if we limit the tire size to a certian size for each class or to use what was stock for the tractor that it may work. The theory of using the tractor gets streached by someone and their modifications of stock and then the ones playing somewhat fair are left behind. I am just wondering what is the rule in your area so we know what is "normal" in the rulling. Thanks in advance.

unless its a points pull why worry about it? my local pulling group has an 16.9 or18.4 rule but you can run anything larger if you take a 200 lb weight handycap. thats in the 5k and 6k classes in the larger classes the weight handycap is greater. i have a massey 85 that i brushhog with , great mowing tires 23.1x26s. looks way cool and i can still pull. usually i lose because of my tires though. least that what i think it is. i have won 1 time though, conditions have to be right. eric

Mike I have been to a lot of pulls that have tire limits most of them have a 15.5x 38 limit on classes 4500 and under 18.4 x 38 for heavier classes. I like these rules most tractors in those smaller classes if not all never had any thing bigger than a 15.5.

Our tractor scale is 10' long by 8' wide. We fought over and over on tire size and came to the conclusion that if the tractor didn't fit the scale then it couldn't pull. M's, H's and JD's all fit length wise but we turned some away because their tires were to wide and didn't fit the scale. NO WEIGHT-NO PULL.

16.9 max in the div 2, up to 6500 lb.s. 18.4 for 7500/8500 lb.s, and 18.4 for our div 3 and 4. no cut for div 2, any cut for 3/4. good luck
