My tractor club has a small sled that we use for fun and demonstration pulls at a lot of different locations. Moving the sled is ok but moving 7 tons of concrete weights is a real hassle. Some where I saw a message about some one using water for ballast, but I can't find it. I would like to know how it works and how they built the sled and any info that anyone could come up with, including pictures. Thank you !

I went to a pull in Lousianna a few years ago and their sled had a water box on it for weight box. It was a fairly simple design, fill with water when they get to pull, drain before moving. Sorry no pictures.

Kenny Storer, from out Iola Ks. way, used to own one of those and it was a decent rig after they got the tank baffled. It was a little spookie 'til then. That's the same gent that still pulls the real good Oliver in Div. IV or V.

Our club bought one out of Leonardville, KS. about 5 years ago. It was made out of a 4 compartment tank off of an old gas delivery truck. Held 1350 gal. total. We started light classes with the back comp. full and worked forward filling the compartments as the classes got heavier. Worked well as long as you had a fire truck or fire hyd. and hose to fill the tank. The tank got in bad shape, so we scrapped it and added a box with concrete weights and a second transmission. Harder to move, but much simpler to operate and speeds the pull up some.
