I recently purchased a MM UB diesel. I am interested in building a diesel puller. I know there are some UBDs pulling ou there. What is the potential for power without going too extreme? I am thinking M5 4 3/4" bore blocks. That would be maybe 350 cubes. How bout a G crank then making 425 cubes. Gas G cranks may break under diesel use? I have heard of this. What about M670 diesel heads? You diesel guys and MM guys out there throw me some tips? Cams, pump work, porting? Throw some thoughts out there. It could be an interesting discussion.

Yes. G1000 blocks are the same as M5 blocks I believe.

Seems like a lot of stress for a G crank.

Yes, it is. I have heard of broken ones. If by some chance I do this, I plan to keep the rpms stock or less and also NO STROKING. Still a high dollar risk one could say. Maybe stick with a 350 cube machine.

Don't waste your time and money no matter what you do those heads won't move any air. I know a guy who had one over 400 cubes with a turbo an still barely made 90 hp. Stick with gas or lp for molines if you want to see any rewards for your money and time. Just my humble opinion. Good Luck.

You are right. No need to be humble about it. LP is the best! I just didn't know what was realistic to expect from a good diesel. I figure a M670 Super diesel engine is the best I could do for it without being nuts. What's that? 75 hp? The old U gas I have will be 80hp maybe. That will do..... ..FOR NOW!

Dan P.? Who is he? I have a nice picture of an awesome GBD on my computer that I took at Columbus. It won by a mile. Has 38" tires on it. Is that him? What is his last name and where is he? I would like to contact him. Thanks!
