I am considering putting back together a 39 JD BN with a complete 49 motor that I happen to have. Is this legal in antique and classic classes and would it be a good setup for divisions 1 & 2 (farm stock 1 and 2). The 39 cylinders/pistons, manifold and head are junk. I was thinking lighter would be better and I do not know of a lighter/stronger combo. I do not plan to go to a higher division so no weights will be added. I am going to have wheelie bars regardless of requirement unless they violate farm stock rules. What do you rules and B guys think?

First I not an expert with the "B",like some guys, but I don't think the '49 block will bolt to the '39 without some work (if possible at all). The '49 block will bolt right up to a '41 transaxle, and all the unstyled parts from a "B" will bolt up basiclly making a late higher powered unstyled "B".The rules on div.1 & 2 vary from club to club. Our div.1 is stock(from the field) check with whatever club you'll be pulling with.
