Hey all you tractor pulling gurus out there, i was just wondering why MH's are so damn hard to beat they always seem to be in the top 3 at local pulls. is there a place to hide a nitrous bottle run realy well on race gas or Comp cams makes an agressive bumpy stick or what. don't worry I won't try to beat you at your own game I just need to know how i can make my W-6 a little more compedative against standard MH 44's and 33's for my B John Deere if I ever get them in fighting trim

I'm bragging about the tractors I collect, but the Oliver guys always seem to get full pulls every time. In several different classes too.

Where do you pull at so I can bring my 44 there and place in the top three, I usally get my shorts fed to me. ;-) Seriously the only thought I have is a stock 44 has more cubic inches than your W-6 (260 vs 248) in a relatively lightweight chassis. I assume that you can't get your W6 below 5500 lbs so the Massey would have more moveable weight. As far as go-fast parts, you would be able to find more stuff for your IH. There is only really one guy that is building big MH engines that I know of. Also, I am not aware of any off-the-shelf parts so everyting has to be custom made. Of course the same old thing applies to MH as it does to any other brand: speed cost money, how fast do you want to go?

Ross -

Who is the guy building big Massey engines? I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one. The Farmalls and Olivers are also tired of feeding me my shorts. Thanks. Bob

Do you happen to know anything about the Baraboo pull? I have been thinking about going down to it. No front cuts? bummer, have to mount up another set of tires then!! So they run a speed limit in the stock classes?

later

For rules on the Baraboo pull, try calling Gary Schyvinch @ 608-524-3533. (thats number may have changed, my book is from 99)

I called up to some friends who will pull there, and they thought that Gary was supplying the sled again this year.

I went to harrisville a couples of years ago when I could still make the dyno pulls. I cant go now because I would have a little problem with onkly putting out 60 horse. I won the 6000 class last time I was there.
