I agree with you guys on raising the price. It might get rid of the people who are always complaining, and just won't shut up. I'm a big time puller, and our pulling price is as low as $7.00-$10.00 at the most a people still complain.

If you can't afford the extra $5 per hook, you should just stay home and give the money to Mama, anyway. It's the least of your expense.

Until you put on a inside pull and know how much it cost don't whine about $25/hook.If you want to play you have to pay

I have seen what it takes because I am directly involved and lets say with 600 hooks at $25 a hook, that is $15000. With every expense that you can imagine it takes between 8 or 9 thousand to run the pull. Where does the rest go?

Previous to this year, NATPA never received any money from regional pulls. They provided all the Techs and paperwork and were just paid enough to cover the cost of the paperwork - maybe $50.

Because of that, the promoters were able to make a profit and continue the pull for the next year. I KNOW several pulls over the years never covered their expenses to put on the pull. THEY LOST MONEY!!!! Now they make a little and the whiners come out of the woodwork.

The extra $5 per hook that is going to the NATPA this year will make it possible for the NATPA to continue their service to the promoters.

If you know of an indoor antique pull that pays back BIG bucks with a small hook fee and that the promoter puts on for the fun of it, please post it so we all know where it is and can go after the $$$.

The promoter of the NATPA pull that I help with made a profit of around $3000 last year, and that is with $20 hook fees. Now we are throwing in an extra $3000 for the NATPA to take home with them. If these people are doing this for fun then why should they take home any profit?

Yea your right, get that price up there so that only the guys who have plenty of money to spend can compete. That way it can really be that who has the most money wins right? I'm still trying to figure out how all thee poor broke starving farmers who grip when the government starts talking about stopping their subsidy checks can afford these $20-40K pulling machines.

I Guarantee you that those poor starving farmers are not the ones building a $20,000-$40,000 machine! And before you go slamming subsidy checks-take a look at these things. No rain for two years, no snow for at least that(and since you don't know what that has to do with anything, snow pack is what fills the rivers and reseviors so that we have water),S#$%^& grain prices, and not to mention wells having to be dropped because they are dry. We make our living in agriculture and pull to get out of the yard every once in a while. Our farmalls may not win every pull, but they run right up there. All because we know the mechanics of an engine, not because we spend thousands of dollars on them. Well, now that I have a lighter load on my shoulders, I hope you have a Merry Christmas and remember who puts the food that you will be eating in the grocery stores.

I know full well who puts the food on the table. I farm on a small scale so I have imput on that also. What I also know is that in my other job if the work slows down and the orders stop coming in I am screwed period. The company I work for makes alot of parts for the automotive AND agricultural industry so those droughts and loss of crops affect me also. Difference is that I don't get paid to not build the parts.

This discussion can go on forever. My original point was that the ones spending $40K on a machine are not in the farming business. You pissed me off when you grouped all us ag men BOTH LARGE AND SMALL into a welfare society. Think before you go knocking on someones door. This is a tractor pull site, and I apologize for getting off of the subject. I am not even going to acknowledge the rest of the post regarding this. Like I said before, Merry Christmas.
