We just got home so this will be short -

Since I have a head cold, I feel onery enough to repond some of the asine comments already made. * Casepower you weren't there - if I had been scared of being beat, I would have stayed home myself. Had you been there you would have been treated the same as everyone else. If you want to duke it out about preferential treatment, I'd be glad to pull against you using whose ever rules we have to use. It made no difference what club someone usually pulled with, at Oakboro each puller was treated the same - the rules were SATPA's rules, that's how it was advertised and that's how it was run. OTTPA, CATPA or whatever PA it was, you pulled according to the rules in effect, and NO ONE was treated special.

*Flogger knows SATPA rules - it may seem unnecessarily wrong, but rules are rules. All PA's have their rules and unfortunately for Flogger, he doesn't meet SATPA's. NO ONE has anything against Flogger, and I personally think he's a fine individual, but rules is rules. *Mike - there were over 300 hooks, just what the h*** did you expect? The last tractor choked down at 11:57pm, and you knew there would be trucks there - correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't OTTPA run trucks??. We were never behind, we finished by the requested midnight deadline = averaging 1 pull every 2 minutes. If you had a problem with something, why did you not discuss it during the pull?

There was someone at the starting line for each class to ensure all pullers were in line correctly and ready to hook.

Yes, the track conditions did have something to do with adjusting the sled, or moving the start line, but know that SATPA had NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING to do with the track conditions. The adjustments that had to be made were made so everyone had the same advantage. We could have had a mud bog, we could have had a dust storm with each tractor, but overall the track was good.

Yes, I'm proud of my 2 2nd place tropies, and my one first place trophy, but by god, I earned them and NO ONE within SATPA did anything to help me. Only the good Lord and good driving earned me my trophies.

I hope everyone has a nice Sunday afternoon.

No hard feelings here,

I was probably wrong to bring an illegal tractor to a satpa pull but I thought maybe if it said Super M on the hood and 264 on the block it was pretty close. Right is right and wrong is wrong though and yall certainly have a right to allow and not allow what you want. I primarily came to support Mr Hinson and his new facility. I reckon it was just a unhappy coincidence that satpa was the club doing the pull. What I feel really bad about is getting out-pulled by 2 more tractors after the protest and seeing the little feller who did the protesting go away empty handed since you only had first and second place trophies. I'm pretty sure I've got a few third place satpa trophies, with several sizes and colors to choose from. If Mr Byrd will give me a holler, I'll try to pick him out a nice one.

I'd like to commend Mr Hinson on a great track and facility. I'd like to see one of the other clubs who allow tractors like mine to pull have one there sometime.

Best Regards! John Hinson

SATPA...Thanks for a great day of pulling in Oakboro Sat.Very professional job and thanks to the guys keeping the tractors and trucks lined up in the staging area...I did not count the hooks, but I am sure there had to be between 290 and 325 hooks...NO OTHER other pulling organization could have done better...I am a fellow tractor puller and I am sick and tired of seeing things but on the internet that is so untrue...SATPA had nothing to do with the track being fixed..The people that prepared the track did a good job with it being a FIRST time pulling track...SATPA did what they needed to do in order to keep things fair for everyone...I was there early and stayed till last tractor went down track...

To all the whiners --- as the old proverb goes..IT IS BETTER TO KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT AND BE THOUGHT A FOOL--- THAN TO OPEN IT AND LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT YOU ARE ONE..... Sorry but sometimes my professionally has to go out the door when I see such untrue and rude statements.. Hats off to THE BULLDOG... AND ALL THE GREAT FOLKS IN SATPA...LOOKING FORWARD TO PULLING WITH YOU GUYS AGAIN.... THANKS FOR THE OAKBORO PULL..

BULLDOG HAD A GOOD TIME SAT FOR THE MOST PART.IKNOW YA;LL DIDN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE TRACK BUT IT WOULD BE NICE IF THEY WOULD TRY TO LEVEL THE TRACK SO THAT IT IT WOULD ON NOT BE SO HARD ON EQUIPMENT, SORTA LIKE NOT HAVING TO START WITH FULL WIEGHT OF SLED OUT OF THE HOLE.OTTPA DOES NOT PULL TRUCKS, AND IN MY OPINON THATS FINE, NOT THAT THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH THEM BUT THEY DO TAKE UP ALOT OF TIME ,AND IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THEY GET MORE HOOKS THAN TRACTORS AND ARE HARDLY EVER READY. I THINK IT WOULD BE BETTER IF THEY PULLED ON A SEPERATE DAY.I WANT TO THANK EVERONE FOR THER THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS FOR MY WIFE.

Ofcorse all the members done great. You all probily brought home all the trophies. I have been to pulls like that. I pulled all day Sat. and sure would have come down if there had not have been a pull 10 miles from my place. I went to Stanly County and pulled one time and got shafted and even caught them flagging a friend to go when the red light on the sled was on and it just about flipped his tractor over backwards. We were warned that they didn't like outsiders and from what I was described from the Oakboro pull they done a few outsiders the same way. You don't have to worry about me coming down and you all are welcome to come pull 12 mph if you can up this way.

'CASE POWER ' FOR YOUR IMTORMATION who ever you are . SEVERAL NON MEMBERS WENT HOME WITH FIRST PLACE TROPHIES . " REAL NICE " TROPHIES I MIGHT ADD TOO . ONE IN PARTICULAR WAS A 400 CASE . I SAW THAT TRACTOR WIN AT LEAST 1 FIRST AND SEVERAL OTHER NON MEMBERS WON THIER SHARE . I JUST DID NOT SEE THE FAVORTISUM THAT YOU KEEP WHINEING ABOUT.

THE OAKBORO PULL WAS ONE OF THE BEST I'VE BEEN TO. YES, I'VE PULLED WITH ALMOST ALL THE CLUBS IN NORTH AND SOUTH CAROLINA AND FEEL THAT I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN TREATED FARE. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ALL THIS FAVORTISUM SHOWN TO MEMBERS THAT WHINERS KEEP WHINING ABOUT . DR. SR.

Casepower - how 'bout having those 'describing' how they were mistreated, or shafted, speak for themselves. Or better yet, how 'bout YOU telling us just HOW they were mistreated. I suppose these people would say that a young 13 year old was given an advantage to win his 1st place trophy, or that the JD730 had an advantage in his trophy win, or the Oliver Super 77.
Tell me where you pull, which PA you are with, and if and when my schedule permits, I'll come up there. I don't pull in 12mph classes but I'd be happy to pull against "your" people in classes equivalent to what I normally pull.
Have a nice day.

They are more then welcome to tell you if they want, but when I was told the way It was descibed to me it was like hearing my own story a couple of years back and I have no reason to question or doubt what I was told. I went to Stanley County and got the same treatment. Here is a picture of a friend the same day he stood the tractor up on it's wheelie bars without moving the sled and the picture was taken on the way down so his tractor was almost straight up before the picture was snapped. In the same class a Oliver 60 pulled 150 feet while using the choke to keep it running and did not spin or raise the front at all off the line. You just be sure and remind your sled operator when you do crap like that you are taking a chance on killing someone. Say what you want and talk all the crap you want about me. I will keep pulling CATPA and OTTPA at least they are fair. The next OTTPA pull is next Sat. at 5:00 PM and Sun at 1:00 PM at the pumkin festival at Goldston, NC. and the next CATPA pull is OCT. 5 at 12:00 noon at Four Oaks, NC. I pull 3500, 4000 super and 8000 and 9000 stock with CATPA and 3700, 4200 super and 8200 and 9200 stock with OTTPA and I am sure you will get treated as fair as anyone else. If it wasn't that way I wouldn't be pulling with them. I don't pull for points so I am considered a outsider to both of these clubs and have no problems at all.

I was there CASEPOWER. That pull was in Albemarle not Oakboro, not the same club and not the same sled. That tractor didn't have any business trying to pull anywhere. He choked every time he let out the clutch, and had to get off and turn the engine by hand to find a good starter tooth on the flywheel. Wouldn't have looked so bad if he hadn't tried to come back and pull another class. He's lucky he wasn't hurt or killed.

I said Stanley county. I never said Oakboro and I have seen that same tractor take first many times at other pulls. I was at about half track and I seen the red light on and the flagman wave him on and the sled operator look over and smile at a group of thugs. So you are telling me that the skipping and missing Oliver 60 that had to keep pulling the choke to keep it running and had no weights on the front was pulling the same load as this one. I know better. And for the flyweel tooth missing so what!! it happens. I was just using this pull as a point to what I am saying. The holding people back when they have plenty of power to pull the sled can get a man killed and from what was described to me from a Oakboro puller the same thing happened there. That's enough of a reason for me to stay local. H$ll you all aint missing nothin. You wouldn't like me anyway. I like to keep things fair and legal.

You say you like to keep things fair and legal, CP, but your comment, and I quote... "I was at about half track and I seen the red light on and the flagman wave him on and the sled operator look over and smile at a group of thugs" is nothing but trash. If you say it, but can't prove it, it's called SLANDER and is ILLEGAL. What's more, if it's written it's called LIBEL which is also ILLEGAL. And this goes far beyond any pulling association's rules. You're talking about a man's character.

So take me to court. One of them TV ones would be nice. I here they pay you for it. You called me a "rascal" how am I suppose to know what that means? I am just telling it as I seen it. I was even told today that is why they broke up the club and sold the sled. I guess if it was your friend that they almost killed it wouldn't matter to you. What if it were you that it happened to??

THE REASON FRONT ENDS CAME UP AT OAKBORO WAS THE INCLINE OF THE TRACK AT LEAST 8FT.. NOT THE SLED OR SATPA. I'LL ADD I AM NOT A MEMBER.

Read the Tractor Bashing Board and you'll see where I posted to your snide comments that the Bo'Weavil DOES NOT have a braking system.
So until later, when you have first hand facts, I bid you a Good Day.

I read it and I still want to know when this board turned into the IH/Farmall board. I never said I had a problem at your pull. I don't care to go and am not going to go to one of your pulls. I enjoy living to much to get caught up in a tractor pulling accident because some one wants to make outsiders look bad.

For your information Casepower, you are not talking about the same club. The sled in your picture is the one Bobby Harkey owned and it was sold to a club up around East Bend NC. (I Think this is correct) The club at Oakboro was from Pageland SC. That club built the sled that was used Saturday.

Thanks Linda, It is hard sometimes to have fun, be a professional, and dodge negative comments issued by some individuals. The Oakboro Pull was large by all means and if you did not enjoy it, then you should not be in tractor pulling. BIG DADDY, you did good too.
