I have a farmall sm a case model c and a light weight mm model bg. I cant decide wich would be best to build to pull. The farmalls do good but i have never seen a case c pull it all ready has a DC head on it.If anyone pulls one or knows if they make good pullers please let me know.

How much competition do you want? Around here there are far more tractors in the heavier classes than in the lighter classes. I would think you will see more tractors with the farmall compared to the other two. I am only guessing that there would be more parts avaiable for the farmall.

I just want to pull a stock tractor in a stock class without spending my life savings.I just dont know if a case C will hang with a farmall M i have never seen one pull. The case needs tires and I would hate to spend the money then it would not compete.

Well I am sure you have been able to tell from some of these posts that while the classes are called stock, the tractors are sometimes far from that. If you are the type of person who enjoys an afternoon/evening with friends and are not going to go postal if you lose, than any one of the three tractors will work. If you want to be competitive, you don't have to spend thousands and thousands to be a contender. I'd say if you have a good set of rears on the farmall $1000 will get you a basic engine/head rebuild. Another $500 can get you some other upgrades (cam, ignition, wires, and/or govenor work). The prices are only ball park figures some folks will spend much more other will spend less. Everyone has thier opinions that was just mine. Oh if you want to go crazy, $10,000-$15,000 will get you a humming running M pushing 135-150 hp (so they say)If you want specifics drop me an email and I'll share what we have done to our 2 M's and 400.

the c is a similiar tractor to the dc. i am pulling a dc this year in the 5500.i think the cases are comming into there own. my dad pulls an sc in the 4500 lb class, and he has won a few of his events.i would give it a try.buy some used rubber, keep your cost down, have some fun with it. dave.
