I am not sure when this happened but Gene Donaldson used to pull an Oliver tractor back in the 80's and maybe early 90's. I am not sure when. He pulled in the big NTPA classes I think. Does anyone know what size tractor and information about him, like if someone else now owns his tractor. I have heard that he was at the top of his class at most pulls. Anyway it is sad that this happened, thanks.

Mr. Donaldson died of a blood clot after a VERY wild ride at an NTPA pull in Chapel Hill Tn. He was thrown off the tractor when the front came down very hard and broke. If I remember right, he died a couple of days later of a blood clot. He had been carried to a hospital in Nashville. I remember his sons pulled it some after that, but don't know how much. Don't know what happened to the tractor. I have seen his wife and one son pulling an 88 Oliver at USAP pulls the first part of this year.

Mr.Donaldson pulled a 2255 oliver.I sure that he was running twin turbochargers with an alcohol injection system. A unique item was the narrow front. It made for some interesting rides.2255 Olivers were never factory equipped for narrow fronts but one would fit from another model. Here is a link to a picture www.winsouls.net/pbc/oliver/OLLIEP~1.JPG

Jack, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Donaldson at a ETTPA pull several years ago. He was having a terrible time making 2 good runs in the same evening( no good ones this night). He eventually went to three chargers if I am not mistaken. In the late 80's he seemed to turn the curve. In crossville tn he made a monster pass, but it wouldn't run in the pull-off. TTBOMK the tractor is still in Ky at the farm. I think his sons have kept it even though they don't have the time to run it. It was rumored that he told them if they were ever going to sell it, to bury it beside him in the graveyard. Remember that is a rumor!!!!! !!! The main reason that I had a 2255 super farm a couple of years ago was because I had seen the pass in crossville. Just don't have enough money to make one run like it would.
