Anybody have any experience, good or bad, with mixing methanol with pump gas? Any ratios or percentages with 87, 89 or 93? Just curious & don't want to make my scrap pile any larger!

dont mix gas and methanol . its a night mare just remove the jet and run it straight may have to squirt a little carb cleaner in it from time to time to get it to start.

Methanol is fun all by itself. One time, I mixed E85 with C-16, 50/50,,, I had a mustang that was a little over 400 ci, small block, has 4.56 posi, it was quick. Pump gas was a no no, and had some of this stuff left over from a test. I put that in the mustang, rejetted it and could not hold the tires at all. Felt like it gave it 50 hp. Had 10.5 X 15 rear tires on it, mash the gas and it just went sideways no matter how fast it was going. I had the clear view plugs on the sides of the bowls, it melted em out, so that was a pretty hot mix there, and it stayed mixed! Chad

Methanol will separate from pump gas after a short time span. You can stir it, and mix for a few minutes, then youll see it drop to the bottom and see the fine line that separaes the alky from the gas. Im not sure on synthetic fuels if they mix, but havent seen anything just yet that mixes well. ChadS

I have a 1977 MGB sports car. It was running rich and I couldn't get it adjusted right. The next time I got gas I put in 2 gals e-85 and 6 gals. of reg. gas. There was probably 2-3 gals of gas already in the tank. After driving around a 100 miles when I checked the plugs they looked like new. Runs better now also.
