I am currently rebuilding the engine in my '63 FSM. My main goal is to put her back to work on a small farm here in Tx, but plan on playing a bit as well.

While I have the engine torn down, does anyone have any suggestions for tweaking a 220 CID Dagenham Diesel for best overall performance in the field/pulling??

Thanks,
Mark

BTW - Low gear is 123:1, no aux weights, and just a very stock tractor.

Can anyone help me? I have an old Dynahoe Backhoe/loader. I think that it has a Dagenham diesel engine. How do I identify this engine and if it is where can I get repair parts, Overhaul kits. It has Ford logo's stamped on some parts, the injectors are under the valve cover, the Injecton pump is Simms, driven on the right/passanger side of the enigne, it is coupled to a Ford-0-Matic.
Thanks for any help!!!!1

It will have do fine if you leave it stock. I pull my '57 Major in the 6 mph 5000lb class and it spins on most tracks. I am usually up near the front and occasionally win.

Does it already have that big (i think) Simms injector. My dad has what i think is a 62 super power major. VERY strong for a 4 cylinder.

I think a Ford Super Major is what the township road crew used around here until recently when they switched to a much newer Massey Ferguson.

Why would you want to do that to a major. They are a really neat tractors. Where do you get parts from down here in TN we can not find parts so we don't use own major much. Our major is a diesel also , and it is a 1960 fordson super power major.

Thanks

The parts are around, but mostly found in England, Canada, and Australia! If you would like, I can send you some links to my favorite websites for parts.
