What pistons to use??

I have a 43 B that I want to stroke but what is the best piston? Is the 520 piston shorter than the the late model B piston. I want to go 7 inches
on the crank.. All your input would be greatly used.

520 / 530 pistons are no good for that length of stroke. I take that you are running a stock block? If so the easy way to go is a large V8 Ford truck piston. I am not real familiar with the 2 ton Ford truck engines but the pistons are out of an engine that is around or over 500 cubic inch. They are 5.5 bore and are available up to .060 oversize. The wrist pin size is about the same as an early B rod. Pretty flat on top and can be machined flat if you want them that way. Rods will have to be custom made no matter what piston you decide to use. Pistons are short enough to get you a rod length around an 11.25 rod length. JD,You will have to pick a rod for clearance in crankcase . I recommend as long as you can for center to center.The piston will depend on what bore you want go to.I recommend Jerry Hinrichs for pistons.Phone is (815) 778-1900 He has put a lot of this combo. together. (Earl in Illinois)
