What do you recommend for a light front axle for a GVI? Rack and pinion of stay with the gear box? I am trying to get this thing down to 6500 pounds. Thanks for the help!!

I am narrowing a steer axle from a small Gleaner and using a Geo Metro rack and pinion.

I have two schwartz front axles, one from a MM U and one from an Allis WD. I was thinking of cutting down one of those. how much weight difference do you think there is between the combine axle and the schwartz front ends?

Save yourself a lot of time and trouble and buy the best one on the market. It belongs to Keith Edens of Bradford, Arkansas. I'm not sure what he wants for it, but it's under the $30k range, and it would be a bargain for the tractor it is. I'm pretty sure he pulls in 6250 lb. class. It's built with the best of everything.

I have seen Keith's tractor pull at Tunica. It is an awesome tractor, but it is out of my price range, even though I would love to have it.

that is funny, i don't care who you are. about as funny as that tractor being able to compete. the massey listed for 15,000 has same engine setup (or bigger) than keiths and looks nicer!! did keith reward you in some way for typing your little promo--call the guy, ask him about his tractor (keith) and you'll here a line of BS that'll make you puke!!

No kick-back. Just stating the facts. Keith's tractor will still be competitive when most everyone else's is in the shop being rebuilt. Do you even know what Keith's tractor looks like? Get your head out of your crack Larry.

MM's.....melts in your mouth, yeah, I know. A .030 over M farmall will still be pulling too when Baker/Marlatt, etc are all working on their M's, but it won't cut the mustard...that's a nice thought though!! hahaha HORSEPOWER BABY!!!!!

It has plenty, AND that's been proven. This is not just some talk. It's fact. Guess he's probably beaten you or one of your friends a few times. Come out from behind that name so we'll know if you even know anything about pullin' or whose tractor you're running down. You're probably too close to what's found behind a big red rooster to do that though. ????? Comin' out Larry? You've been called!!!

listen lamont or ramone or whoever, he calls it a .030 or something 800...that don't cut the mustard. it runs OK (maybe looks awesome to what your used to) but, and i mean BUT, its just an average tractor that he's trying to sell. theres better out there, the 95 super for 15,000 is a DEAL, the one you speak of just copied it appears what he liked off all the MM's before it...you know this guy, you know what I mean..... ..

It's Lamont. I'm sorry you didn't get that. Most everyone knows I'm Jeff Sanford. I go by Lamont, as in Lamont Sanford, from the old TV show Sanford & Son. Yes, that would make my dad's nickname Fred. (I don't say things that make me want to hide.) I didn't really think you would come out from behind your "Larry" handle. Most people won't, especially if they don't know what they're talking about. Yes, I know Keith personally and apparently much better than you know him. He is anything but a copycat. Sure, he's like all of us getting ideas from one another, but you can rest assured that if he uses an idea from something he's seen before, he's going to improve upon it. As far as the MF 95 Super for $15k goes, that sounds like a good deal, but I don't know that tractor. That's why I didn't say ANYTHING about it - good or bad. I know Keith's tractor, and it's anything BUT, and I mean BUT, average. Average is not competitive. Look up it's history at Tunica. That'll make you want to stay hidden. So long, "Larry." Happy hiding.

oh, results from one event (one place)ooooo ohhhh scary!! Call and ask for details from him on his MM, it's funny all the stories he tells! He makes things up to sound impressive--do you help dream up the stories? Bet he still owns it next year to be there again at Tunica-we'll be there watching him beat all the brush tractors! WOW

I don't need to call him up. He lives less than 2 miles from me. When I said I know him and the tractor, I meant it. I wasn't just talking about last year's Tunica events. I said history. Look up the last 3 years. You're really showing your ignorance when you call the tractors he pulls against brush tractors. Not too many brush tractors cost $40k to $70k to build. We brush pullers can't afford that. Now I really don't blame you for hiding "Larry." I'm sure your family and friends appreciate you hiding to spare their embarrassment.

If it costs 40K-70K to build a MPH Moline (3 years running Tunica winner) I would hate to see what a true open class Moline costs to build. That tractor's high gear is what most big Molines run for their loading gear. That tractor is outdated just like Sanford & Son...

I didn't ask to see the receipts. I'm just repeating what the owners of those tractors say. I don't know them, so you may be right. They could be lying, but I doubt it. Keith's tractor is not a $40k to $70K tractor, but it is well worth the money in the mid $20Ks, and it's competitive.
