I"d watch eBay for a Sharpe gun compatable with your pot setup. I have a similar setup that I haven"t needed to use since it came to me cheap. I think the gun is a 998 but I haven"t looked at it recently.

Hi Travis,

Since you mention hoses, I assume you mean that your pressure pot is a remote cup version where the pot is not attached directly to the gun like a suction feed arrangement is. I also assume that it includes the paint pressure regulator and gage, which are normally a part of the pot assembly.

My recommendation would be to make sure that any gun you get is set up specifically for pressure feed if you want to use that pressure pot. Pressure feed has smaller tip sizes than either suction or gravity feed units and the air caps may also be different. Most of the HVLP guns today are gravity feed, although there are exceptions. In fact, a gravity-fed gun may be difficult (regardless of tips and air caps) to convert to a pressure-feed mode unless you can get (or have custom made) the necessary adapters to connect up the paint hose, which generally would go in on the top - not a great idea IMO.

Sharpe makes an HVLP pressure feed gun to go with that pot. My pressure feed, remote cup arrangement is all DeVilbiss. I am not familiar with the Sharp but have seen it on their website. Sharp is a good name brand but would be less expensive than the equivalent DeVilbiss, I think. However, I don't think the Sharp is cheap. The only cheap pressure feed arrangement I have seen is from Northern Tool for less than $100, including the remote pressure pot. I don't recall if it was advertised as being HVLP or not. I am guessing it is a low-end foreign knock-off of either the DeVilbiss or Sharp pressure-fed arrangements.

You should have a pretty decent quality pot in that Sharp so I would think the best choice for you would be to get the Sharp pressure feed gun to go with it. That way you would be assured of a satisfactory, compatible arrangement.
