I was wondering how long after you apply the primer do you wait to begin working with the primed surface (i.e. sanding, painting)? Does the primer have a cure time? The primer can says to either recoat within 2 hours or wait 2 days before applying another coat. Just wondered if that meant I should wait 2 days before working with it.

Thanks for any comments.

Sounds like you are using an inexpensive primer, good primers can be sanded and reapplied after only 2 or 3 hours.

That's kind of what I was thinking...after 2 or 3 hours everything should be well.

The primer is NAPAs Carolina Line (?) red Primer. I only picked up one can to hit some small parts I have off the tractor. I'm planning to use CaseIH iron guard primer on everything else. Thanks!
