I was so excited today to try spraying something for the first time. This time, the target was a pre-primed interior door. I used Floetrol in the exterior white latex paint and also thinned it out a little bit. I loaded it up in my detail gun and tried to spray.Total failure. The paint would just come out in periodic spurts. I tried adjusting the air and material flow rates with no success. I figured the paint was too thick and I tried thinning it out more. Still no result. So I thinned the heck out of it till it was pretty much like water. Finally, it would spray somewhat more consistently except the water/paint was completely useless as a coating. I finally broke down in bitter disappointment and took out my paint brush and painted the door the traditional way. So obviously I have the wrong type of gun. Just wondering, are the things that this type of gun meant to spray have to be as thin as water? What type of things are these guns designed to spray? Also, what kind of gun can I get that will spray latex? Thanks! Lawrence
