Brand Bashing

Well, not really but I got your attention, didn't I :o). Not paint products themselves but paint product troubleshooting information. In checking out the painting problems information available from Martin Senour (S&W), PPG and DuPont, I think that Martin Senour has an excellent, detailed troubleshooting manual (64 pg .pdf - takes a bit to load), PPG has a very good one, although a little more difficult to use and DuPont's is also good. I am not able to link directly to the DuPont manual. Just log in to their site as "visitor" and follow this link path: products/technical manuals/paint defects manual. Anyone who is having specific problems with any brand of paint should carefully review the generic information provided in such manuals for a possible cause before arbitrarily laying blame to the manufacturer. Perhaps even your particular manufacturer also provides similar on-line information. If they are a major player in the market, they probably do.

Thankyou for the links. If there was a way it would be nice to have them to the side where they could be accessed from this forum. I am lucky to have a very good counter person at my dealer who both knows and will share his knowledge with us part timers trying to learn. For those not so lucky the Mfg's links give the same information.

Oops. Bad link to the DuPont site. Try this one.
