My painting nigtmare as described by me.
1 experience level quite high
2 this job was simple 2 week return time
3 washed degreased sanded nothing fancy/weird
4 disassembled as required 5 sprayed IH paint( so thin out of the gallon can
which cost 40$) could not justify anymore thinning
it went on gorgeous and done as instructed 6 I went for a second coat 5 days later started with the benchwork first (the hood panels etc) by the time I thought about going in for the after flash recoat every thing I had worked on stood up cracked and looked like the rand mcnally atlas was coming alive before my eyes
7 This was on bare clean steel the 2nd time and same results
8 So 4 weeks later the tractor is painted and you can swim in depths of my 1rst coat 3recoats within 3hours 9 with out all the ignorant banter, What gives with this paint I am puzzled and the car dealership body guys cant understand why either
10 The last tractor I did with same everything stated here could win a show award!!!!! Thank you ON

Are you saying that you sprayed more coats after your original coats has dried for 5 days? 5 minutes between coats is a better way to go. If so that is what probably caused the cracking. Never, ever spray more coats over dry paint without re-prepping. You need to apply all your coats in one session. I've seen directions on these older paints that tell you to apply the next coats days later but that is incorrect and will cause problems. Do all your painting at one time and it should work out.
Good Luck!
