Hi, I bought a Jd 2350 WITH A 240 FRONT LOADER, Im planning to paint it, but Im new at this, so any advice would be helpful.
Is it better can spray or with a compressor, which parts I need to take off? Whats the best time of the year to paint it? Do I need to sand every single part Im painting?
Thanks for your help

1. You will get the best job with a spray gun HVLP works best for a beginner.

2. The more you disassemble, the more work you will do, but the better coverage you will get. You can't get good coverage trying to paint the back side of some part next to the block, for example. Paint guns do not fit into tight places.

3. You have to sand/scuff/wire wheel everything to be assured of adhesion. Depending on how bad the paint is, you may want to remove all of it.

4. Temperature depends on the paint. Cheaper paints are "good" down to 50-55 degrees. Quality paints have a cutoff at about 65 degrees. 70-75 is ideal. I have not painted above 90, prefer below 80.

To what extent you do all of this this is up to you. I suggest you read all the pages in this forum and then ask your questions.
