I know you have written that you have a Devilbiss JGA. I have a JGA 503 suction feed that I would like to convert to pressure feed. Could you post a description (or pictures) of how you have your spray gun set up with the pressure pot. Thanks for any information you can provide.

Hi,

I think the JGA 503 is a modern version (conventional, not HVLP) of my JGA 502. The things you need to do to convert from suction to pressure feed is 1) get a remote cup assembly and 2) change the fluid tip and needle in the gun, along with the air cap. The remote cup (usually 2 qt) replaces the suction cup altogether. The fluid hose hooks right up where the suction cup attached and the air hose connects the same as it did before. Here's a picture of the arrangement I use:

The parts list that came with your gun should give a breakdown of the current proper fluid tip/needle and air cap recommended for pressure feed. I use a FX tip and needle (1.1mm) and a #705 air cap (8"-9" pattern, 13cfm @50 psig). Those may not be available anymore but I would expect there are equivalents that would apply to the 503.

That is One Hell of a paint gun, perfect for underneith tractors and can really lay the paint on!
