Can someone tell me what the normal oil psi should be for a 2 cyl Ruggerini diesel, Mine seems high. Also I would like to know the oil flow through thrugh filter, is it the same as an automobile oil filter flow, In the outter part of the filter, And back through the center? Thanks Joe

Joe,
I use an oil filter from a Toyota on an adapter on my 993. I can put a gauge on it to see what it is when warm. I did blow a few o-rings when i revved it cold with straight 40wt! I have had no problems since.

Thanks Pete,
I just put a filter from A V6 chevy also with an adapter, And when I ran it the filter started to bulge, The engine also was cold and with 30wt oil. I didn't want to run it too long for fear of no oil getting back to the motor. thanks for your help Joe

Joe,
The machine should have an oil pressure indicator on the "dash". When you crank the engine it should be on until it turns a few times and then go out. If it stays on the engine has no oil pressure. My pressure sender is up in the front between the air shroud and the front cylinder located in the block with a single wire. Unfortunately the system must go to ground to show no pressure, that means if it comes off it shows pressure. Check it key on, engine off, light should be on.
