I am thinking about resoring a Worthington chief that is owned by a partner of mine (golfcourse application). I found number on the body "c" or "g" 2706. Maybe this is a 1950 era?? I am looking for any available info on Worthington mowers, manuals or the Company originating in Stroudsburg. I believe it has a Dodge flathead in it.

Mike Murphy and I have begun the restoration of the Chief mentioned in 2000. We are looking for any pictures or info and are interested in the purchase of another Chief. Sorry for the absence!

I also have a Worthington Chief. I've reproduced the Indian chief hood ornament, and have spares. I've heard of a website but havn't found it yet. We need to start a registry or something!

If it has a small dumpbody on the back,it is probably a "C" series. The "G" series was a lot smaller and was used mainly for pulling gang mowers.

Worthington Mower Co was founded by C.C. Worthington early in the last century. Originally started in Shawnee-on-Del.,Pa, it moved a short distance to Stroudsburg. The company was sold after WWII to the Jacobsen Corp. in WI

I own a Worthington Chief (serial# C 1614) that dates to 1945 and uses a Chysler straight six and Dodge truck sheetmetal. Worthington was bought by Jacobson in 1949 and continued to make Worthington type tractors for a short time. The Worthington you are interested in dates to the late 40's I am slowly gathering info on The Worthington Mower Company. It is not an easy task.
