I teach a high school Diesel Tech program in Vancouver WA. A gentleman is donating a Cletrac crawler to the program. I was in the field looking at it this afternoon. It hasn't run in a few years and has a good amount of moss growing on it. It was running when it was turned off a couple of years ago, I didn't ever know where to look for model and serial numbers. It measures close to 6 feet on the out side of the tread and about 8 feet in lenght without the blade. The hydraulics for fhe blade look like it is home made and it does not have a PTO. Once we have established what we have, we can start looking at what is possible for restoration. Does anyone have any suggestions. I would appreciate any help.

We have 3 cletracs on our farm, one of which my father bought new in 1945 (all are running and we use them every season on our onion farm in Pine Island, NY). I have parts and service manuals if you need them I can make some copies. The only danger in keeping it outside is water getting down the exhaust and into the motor

Look for info plates on right side of bell housing.Sounds like an HG,which I have but mine is gas.I know they made diesel models but dont know what they were called.Fyi, cletrac was bought by oliver which was then bought by white.A local White dealer assured me that parts are still avl.Mine came with original manual but parts manuals are avl thru "yesterdays tractors".let me know how it works out.

Lodi, CA 95240
(209) 368-2031

William J. Bechthold is known as "Mr Cletrac" of the west coast. Bill has been working on and was a dealer for Cletrac since the early 1930s. He is willing to assist those who contact him.
Bill is hearing disabled so speak slowly and distinctly, not loud.

His son, Bill E. Bechthold is also very knowledgeable about the Cletrac.

Good luck.

Hello there,

Hope you can help - I am looking for manuals for the GARWOOD Industries (?) Cleveland Tractor Company Medium M-2 Tractor, as used on the airfields of Europe and Asia during WWII.

Any help with manuals, photos, engine details would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Derek

Need to establish a value on a Cletrac AG6, approximately 1944?? Was my father's and still runs fine. Good grousers, medium rails, narrow guage, PTO, & excellant hydraulic blade (not Cletrac or Oliver, but nicely constructed and durable). Rough paint, but not original. Starts runs strong, 6 cyl, gas engine - Continental? Extra parts. Always stored under roof. Ran it through its paces and all systems run as strong as I remember as a kid. Any ideas on sale value appreciated. Seems a shame to part out when it runs so well.
