Has anyone actually ever seen a Magnatrac? You know, the homebuilt crawler advertised in the back of Popular Mechanics every month for the last quarter century. I was wondering if any of these actually exist, or if the folks at Struck-kit just got rich selling plans.

I have a magnatrac and it's just the greatest little thing. I'm convinced that Mr. Struck had a vision from the Lord. It is certainly the most wonderful gift that anyone who has ever used a pick, shovel and a wheelbarrow would appreciate. Go to their website at magnatrac.com and ask for a copy of the article written in Popular Mechanics (60's). It's interesting. The magnatrac's of today are lightyears ahead. For example, the original kits were for a machine that could be transported in the back of a DeSoto Type stationwagon of the 60's. Mine is 47.5 inches wide and can fit into the back of a full sized PU but's it's heavy and I personally really wouldn't want to drive it up or down a set of planks into a PU. In three months, I have done 10 years worth of backbreaking pick and shovel work in my backyard. Mr. Struck must have been inspired. Unbelievable what you can do with it. I've moved huge trees, gigantic bolders, 75 yards of topsoil for a lawn, 30 railroad ties, cleaned brush, shrubs, on and on. Buying it, undoubtedly extended my life by at least 10 - 15 years. And, the property is looking a lot better too. I've also met neighbors, I didn't know I had. See Ya
