How are the brakes adjusted or replaced on a 1942
Three wheeler?,Also what can be done to take the shake out of the front wheel when in road gear?. Thanks.

To adjust the brakes you have to take the cover off the top near the final drives. Under the cover will be a 7/16" bolt. You should be able to get enough adjustment there, if not, on the other side (bottom) there is a bolt that you can tighten on the other side of the brake bands. You will also see several set screws around the housing holding the brakes. The set screws are to adjust the brake bands, so they don't rub the brake drum when they are released. It is really quite easy.

As far as the steering, what type of tire do you have on the front of your tractor, and is there a chain under a cover on the front, or does your tractor have all tie rods for steering linkage?

The front tire is an implement tire, and it does have a chain under the cover.

If your chain is tight and everything includind the steering box is tight, about the only thing you can do is only put about 20 to 25 pounds air in the tire. The implement tire is the correct tire for the front. A regular tractor front tire on the front is even worse as far as steering control.
