We have an (estimated) early 1940"s W.F.Heber & Co Shop Mule, SN#4849, Model J233 with a flathead 6 cyl Green Diamond Engine (SN#102279). Would love to rebuild the engine (it runs, but needs new rings/piston job). Overall, it"s in great shape, but we have no manuals or resources. Any ideas?

The correct brand is W.F.Heberd & Co. Sorry about that!

First its HEBARD (W.F.Hebard) and they built the J models from the mid 1930's up until 1950 in Chicago.

The engine is the International Harvester light truck engine as was the trans & rear end, there's where to start. Think truck, not not tractor when working on this model.

Don"t have anything on Heber or Shop Mule, but if that"s an IH Green Diamond, binderbooks.com is supposed to have all the IH engine/eqpmt manuals. Good luck.
