Greetings,

I am trying to find four axle steering plate studs for a 1957 Hough HH Payloader. They are special type stubs. Hough part number is 141205.

Anyone know who sells 50 year old Hough Parts?

Thanks,

Bill

Will parts from the HA work for what you need. The units are very similar except for the loader frame on the HA is lighter. We are currently having trouble with the reverse clutch(slips)and are in the process of fixing it. Do you have any experience with this or a book that shows the break down of it. We could maybe trade some parts for use of you book or knowledge. Thanks, Andy

I have just purchased an HA.If you have some parts,I would be interested.Pics would be appreciated too of it.

Oh boy!! Without knowing anything about Houghs, I'd guess the problem with a wrecking yard would be to pay someone's time to pull the studs...
On a more hopeful note: most wrecking yards now are on a net, which shows (I understand) at least what the various yards cover; you might check with a local yard, if there is one, for leads.
AND a note: atis.net, click on "additional services" and then on "salvage yards"--supposed to be tractor and some const eqpmt yards listed...
Under const wrecking yards all I've got is thilltractor.com, Eau Claire, WI; and Weller Tractor Salvage, Great Bend, KS, email grader@greatbend.com...
Your best bet'd probably be run the archives on, and post to, the Cat and other const sites, and any tractor site that has a const eqpmt or "other " forum...
Oh, wait: under "IH Const" I've got F P Smith Co, somewhere in Cal, 1-800-210-1122, and "Abline Machinery or Abline Machine, in Abline, KS, but no email or phone (I asume that was was supposed to be Abilene). Under "Old IHC" I've got Webertractorworks.com, no location. If yours was an IH Hough, or similar to one, they might have them.
All were noted from other posts sometime in the last 18 months or so; have no personal dealings with any. Good luck!!
One last thought: you might run the "Parts and Services" threads on aths.org; it's where the truckers post where they find rare and obsolete parts; may be some wrecking yards listed for heavy and const stuff.

If nothing more promising 's shown up, you might try thebernsco.com; they're an outfit in Long Beach, CAL, that advertises trans and drive axle parts for forklifts, straddles and heavy trucks...
Don't know anything about them; I think just saw their website and jotted it down. Good luck.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. It tried Berns. They did not have the part.

I may need to go used....so used Hough laden salvage yards can be added to my wish list.

No help on your axles but I to own a Hough payloader 57, 58 or 59. I am looking to replace the hydraulic pump. Did you find any salvage yards with an HH? I believe mine is probably a 58 as the serial # is low but have ordered some manuals to determine this as well as get part #s.{My serial # is 18C1912} Please let me know if you find yard with parts and I will do the same. Have spent ALOT of time online researching and looking for new, used or rebuilt pump but no luck as of yet.

As if you didn"t have enough useless information, in following something on a Dresser crawler I found posts that said IH sold it"s "const franchise" ?? to Dresser (supposedly owned by Komatsu), that Dresser crawlers were actually the same as the IH models, and that thru more corporate convulsions the line came into a Polish company named Dresta, which builds const eqpmt etc, and has Dresta North America Ltd as a subsidiary. IF yours is an IH Hough, the line might"ve gone to Dresser with the crawlers, and into Dresta, and a Dresta dealer might have Hough parts...
