Well I've had my long 445 for two weeks now and I love it... I've mowed 6 acres, plowed a half acre with an antique John Deer double plow, ran over that with a disc 3 or 4 times, and rode around the field 5 or 6 times, and I still have a half tank of fuel. This is my first tractor, but I don't think I could have gotten a better one, especially as far as fuel economy... Now I just need more hours in the day to use it. I could also use a left headlight which was missing when I got it, if anyone out there could help me find a used one that would be great... I am pretty sure it is a 1973 model as that's what is stamped on the trans and engine cases...

You can go to farmtrac.com and search for a dealer near you. Farmtrac is the new name for Long. A better solution, in my opinion would be to get a set of universal type tractor headlights. My 445 that I bought in 1981, had no lights, and I put this type on it. I would think you could find them at tractor Supply or sme other such store. Still workin".

I did go ahead and install some Baja type driving lights on the front of it, and some fog lights on the back. However, I would like to find an original left headlight to put back just in case I ever have a need to restore it to it's original condition. (not that it will be a collector or anything) But I do like the look of the original lighting. Seems like I saw a post somewhere in the archives about someone knowing of a junkyard that had some old longs in it. Thanks again Jim
