this tractor is a 3 or 4 cyl and seems too run well but he said that he had to repair trans because plowing or heavy pulling messed up the roller bearings instead of having other bearings?..i dont know lots about them just what i have read on here and would like to upgrade to a diesel with power steering if this tractor would be ok...thanks for the help and replies

Oh, yes the 06 range had been very good tractors. They donīt go for cheap in europe and You see heaps of them around on famrs, 30 years after the end of the 06 range.

The engine of the D 3006 is a Deutz F 2 L 912, a 2cylinder.
Smallest tractor with 3cyl is the D 4006, with a F 3 L 912.
4cyl starts on the D 5506 (52hp), itīs the F 4 L 912.

52 hp is rubbish, for that it must be a D 5506. D3006 has 30 hp and is a 2cylinder. Bearings are metric, so maybe impossible to get in the states.
For normal you can buy every tractor of the Deutz 06 range.
