They used the German 358 cid diesel engine in some of those Hough loaders too. That engine was used in some of the IH's farm tractors too. Hal

I think I will try to negotiate on the price. This must be the J series commins. it only has one cylinder head. I need somethimg in the shop to work on this winter and this should be a very interesting project. Thanks for all the help. Keith

I think a HU is 1952 to 1958 time frame. The motor should have some casting # dates on some parts. The unit is not one I am familiar with. I have a HA (1955), and a H90 (1964) both are good units. Might find a serial # stamped into the top of the thick steel plate, as you sit on the seat, on your right or left side. I had to scrape some paint to locate. I hope price is negotiable, cause that seems kind of high to me. You should find manuals on internet maybe this site, or ebay if you"re patient. I don"t know about your motor. The HA has a waukeshaw FC and the H 90 has a cummins j series engine. Good Luck.

I have an HYG Serial # 17076. You don't happen to know what year that was from?

Take a look at the engine. Is a Cummins with only one cylinder head which would indicate an older J or The original model C Cummins. Parts for them are getting to be harder to find and if you do very expensive. There is also an engine serial number stamped in the block. It does not have the conventional Cummins I. D. Tag on the front block flange by the injection pump drive.? J.

I think IH sold off that loader division sometime ago to Furnival and they sold it to Midlantic Machinery. Parts are probably available for the
Cummins diesel engine. Parts for the loader may be scarce. Price seems a little high with a stuck engine. Hal

Try www.dresstanorthamerica.com/ since I think they purchased the Hough loader division from IH.

Send all the information that you have on the loader to j.nehl@dresstanorthamerica.com. Hal
PS: Here's a locator web site for one of their dealer's in your area. You will need to put in the two letters for your state in the very last letters.
