Hey HUBER guys I have just bought an LC that i'm going to fix up. I have heard that you can put a starter on this tractor. Is that true where do I find the parts? Or can this be done to one that never came with a starter. Any info would be great THANK YOU.

My 39 L had a ring gear on the flywheel and was drilled and tapped for the starter. Found one off a 50's GMC truck that bolted right up and works great.

Hi Jeff can you tell me where they located the starter on the tractor. I have some Olivers that use the same motor as the l&lc. My 80 Oliver standard the starter goes through the frame on the magneto side. These tractors share an identical frame but not exactly the same. Thank you Josh

The starter should be in the same location as your 80. I have seen other Hubers that just had a plate covering the hole. I thought all the bell housings were cast like that, but maybe the older ones were not.

Hi Josh:

I'm sure that you could put a starter on a LC, but I think that it would be tough. I have a '39 L with no electric starter. It has a hole for the starter, but no holes for the fasteners. The bigger problem is that the flywheel is not geared for the starter. I'm towards the end of restoration. I don't mind hand starting the 334 cu.in. Huber after years of hand starting the 511 cu. in. Allis.
