Hello, i was looking at a long tractor, i believe it is a 550 long, what HP would that be? The block has been cracked but has been welded back and somebody did a really good job doing it, it runs good and doesn't leak any fluids, good paint and sheet metal on it, the guy is asking $2000 for it is that a good deal?? Also how hard would it be to add hydralic remotes on it?

I believe it may be a 560 . My brother had a 610 for several years, He had to do some engine work on it once as I recall. He can be pretty tough on his stuff and it held up pretty well. WE have not had any experience with any that have had blocks repaired. Long resale value is lower than other tractors and if you do not have a dealer nearby, it may be hard to get parts for them. You can find some on the net. If you can find someone more knowledgeable about tractors, you might consider getting someone to help you look at it. We are thankful to have a good dealer nearby. We have some that we have been using for over 35 years, a 360 and 445. Go to Farmtrac.com to find a dealer near you. Another thing to consider would be if the tires are in good shape. The hyd. remotes should be a matter of adding hoses, couplings, and a lever to control the remote valve. The components to operate the remotes should already be in the lift.
