Hello All!

I am looking for information on a walk behind, self propelled Gravely mower. I believe my friend was looking for a model to buy when Gravely first came out with electric starters. If anyone can direct me to a web site that has information on this type of gravely, or has information themselves, it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks a Million! Mike

I'm not an expert on Gravelys, but I know a little. I collect two-wheel walk-behinds and have a couple of hundred of them. In my experience, the Gravelys are pretty common. The earliest model had an Indian motorcycle engine and one wheel - came out around 1927. Most other than the first few had the Studebaker-Gravely engines. Around 1945, two wheel models were introduced. First the Gravely 2, then the D, and then the L was made through the 50s. Then newer models in the 1960s and up started using more common engines like Kohler. The tractor you're referring to sounds like a 5 horsepower Model L with a chain-drive electric start - I've got several laying around.
