What are the differences between the Continetal F162 and F163 flat head four cylinder engines? Would there be any diffieculties mounting a F163 in place of a F162? Was there a power difference?

Thank you.

The F162 and the F163 are the same displacement. F163 has the distributer through the head and is a later design.

You could swap them into something else. I just re built a F-162 and I have seen other equipment with the 163 in them and I couldn't tell anything different between the two. The differances got to be on the insides with a bigger bore or a longer stroke. Couldn't be much differance.
